Oilers Zach Hyman returns after taking Bouchard shot to face

Call it a Bouch bomb gone nearly wrong.

Edmonton Oilers forward Zach Hyman went straight to the dressing room in the second period of Monday's game against the Florida Panthers after a deflected shot from teammate Evan Bouchard hit him in the face.

Hyman appeared to be in considerable pain after the puck clipped him just under the visor. He made a beeline to the bench, with a commentator on the Amazon broadcast noting there was blood.

However, the 32-year-old forward returned in the third period with a fishbowl visor protecting his face and a swollen nose.

Hyman previously missed five contests with an undisclosed injury.

In 25 games this season, he's scored eight goals and added five assists for 13 total points.

The former 50-goal scorer had already struck twice in the Stanley Cup rematch, extending his hot streak to seven goals in six games.

The Oilers, however, ultimately fell 6-5 to the Panthers.
