As hosts of this year's World Junior Championship, Team Canada will certainly hope for a better result than last year's WJC, where they fell to Czechia in the semifinals, giving up an opportunity to meet the USA in the finals. 

Team USA eventually won the WJC24, while Czechia finished third. 

However, playing at home should give a boost to the Canadians, but the first test will not be an easy one as they go up against a solid Finnish team. Finland finished fourth overall in last year's WJC.
