Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note: The Jets impressive season continued last night as they concluded the pre 4 Nations portion of the schedule with a 4-3 win over the Islanders which was their eighth straight victory. That’s the second time this season they’ve gotten to eight wins in a row. They will head into their break as the top team in the NHL (provided Washington doesn’t win against Utah today).
Note II: The Moose put the AHL All-Star break behind them and look to get their season back on track as they kick off the first of six straight games at home starting with a contest against the Wild this afternoon. Puck drop is at 2 PM CST.
Note III: After being limited to one assist in his last five games Jets 2024 4th rounder Kevin He had 1G 1A (see here) as his IceDogs fell to the Wolves last night. On that same sheet of ice fellow Winnipeg prospect Kieron Walton (2024 6th rounder) had 2G 1A (see here) for Sudbury in their win over He and his Niagara club.
Note IV: We’ve got two hours of Jets content coming your way this morning at 9 AM CST on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Jets hit break on eight-game roll with win over Isles. Hard to find a flaw in this Jets club right now. In 56 games they’ve had one bad stretch for ten games and then some poor, isolated efforts here and there. But overall this team has been extremely consistent.

New York Post: Islanders finally seem to have solved penalty-kill problem. Before the game yesterday if you looked up where the Islanders PK ranked in the entire NHL it was 31st overall which would make Winnipeg, home of the league’s best power play, not a good place to be. However, New York has turned things around the last 15 games which coincides with their turning their season around.
Newsday: Islanders fall short against high-powered Jets. (Paywall). Always interesting to get insight into the game from someone that covers the Jets opponent Part Deux.

TSN Hockey analyst Bruce Boudreau joined SportsCentre to share his thoughts on what he saw from the Jets in the second period, in which they score three unanswered goals against the Islanders, and what Gabriel Vilardi brings to the Jets, as he set a new career-high in goals with a pair in the contest.
