What's open, closed for New Year's Day – Cornwall Newswatch

SD&G – With the start of 2024 here, there will be a number of closures and schedule changes to contend within Cornwall and SD&G this week. Here’s a list of closures:

• Post offices are closed Jan. 1 and there is no mail delivery.

• Banks and government offices are closed.
• Retail stores are closed

• LCBO and Beer Stores

Cornwall

• City offices have been closed since Dec. 22 and will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 8:30 a.m. For municipal works matters, call 613-932-5354.

• There is no garbage or recycling collection today (Monday). Your garbage and recycling pickup day will be delayed by one day this week. The landfill is closed.
• Cornwall Transit is not running and the transit office is closed
• The Aquatic Center and Benson Center are both closed today.
• The Cornwall Public Library is closed Jan. 1.
• Cornwall Square is closed

South Stormont

• The town hall is closed until 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 2
• There are no changes to recycling and garbage pickup this week.

South Dundas

• The municipal office is closed until Jan. 2 at 8:30 a.m.
• No garbage/recycling pickup on New Year’s Day. Pickup is delayed one day this week.

North Dundas

• The municipal office is closed until Jan. 2 at 8 a.m.
• Garbage and recycling pickup for Jan. 1 has been moved to Jan. 4. All other pickup days remain unchanged.

• The Boyne Road landfill is closed New Year’s Day.

North Stormont

• The North Stormont municipal office are closed until Jan. 2.
• No information available on garbage and recycling pickup.

North Glengarry

• The township office is closed until 8 a.m. on Jan. 2.
• Garbage and recycling collection, normally done today (New Year’s Day) will be moved to Tuesday. All other pickups are unchanged.

South Glengarry

• The municipal office is closed until 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 2.
• Garbage and recycling normally picked up on Monday will be picked up Tuesday. Collection for the rest of the week will be delayed by one day.
