UnitedHealth top insurance exec shot and killed in Midtown Manhattan

Brian Thompson, who ran UnitedHealth Group Inc.’s insurance business, was shot and killed by a masked man in Midtown Manhattan early on Wednesday morning.

Thompson was shot outside the New York Hilton Midtown, where UnitedHealth was hosting its investor day. The event was curtailed and ended due to the tragedy.
