Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul fight purse details emerge as YouTuber avoids antidoping tests
John Fury has given details of the fight purse that his son Tommy can expect to take home from December bout against Jake Paul while accusing the YouTuber of 'avoiding anti-doping tests'

Tommy Fury will earn ‘more than some world champions’ for his fight against YouTuber Jake Paul, his father John has claimed.

The Manchester-born fighter takes on Paul in Tampa, Florida next month having developed a rivalry with the American internet star in recent months.

Fury, the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson, fought on the undercard of Paul’s victory against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in August.

The fight has attracted huge attention and with a pay-per-view audience on both sides of the Atlantic, his dad and coach is predicting a handsome payday.

"Listen, Tommy's getting paid more money for this than some world champions,” he told Rob Moore on YouTube.

"He's getting paid in the millions, so if we get millions for getting wet we're gonna do it, because it's good business."

Fury senior also added a fresh layer of controversy to the build-up by claiming Paul has avoided anti-doping tests.

Fury’s camp wanted to include Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) testing as part of the contract but Paul’s representatives allegedly refused the clause.

"There's all kinds of stuff in the contract, as you've got to do this and you've got to do that," said Fury.

"I could go into it more and more, but I don't want to bore people with the politics.

“They wouldn't sign up to the VADA testing as well. That bothered me a little bit because I wanted that in the contract, but they wouldn't do that.

"I'm not even bothered about that, because of what they're going to do, they're going to do anyway.

"We just want the fight because we know we can win it. People think that Tommy's getting paid to lose, they're joking. A Fury would rather be put to death than go down that road."
