Siobhan Haughey wins gold at World Aquatics Championships
Hong Kong's star swimmer Siobhan Haughey snatched a gold medal in the Women's 200m Freestyle at the World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) Budapest 2024.
The 27-year-old Olympic silver medalist took the lead right from the start of the 200m Freestyle event, finishing at 1:50.62 -- an impressive 0.87 seconds ahead of Canadian swimmer Mary-Sophie Harvey.
Claiming the bronze medal was Claire Weinstein from the United States, who completed the race in 1:51.62.
The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Suk-pui congratulated Haughey on winning the gold at the World Aquatics Swimming Championships.
