Marquette Rotary Clubs team up to host Pints for Polio
MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - All three of Marquette’s Rotary Clubs are teaming up to fight polio.
According to Rotary International, polio is almost eradicated worldwide, but there’s still some work to do. The Rotary Clubs hosted Pints for Polio on Friday to raise money for the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. All you have to do to participate is buy a pint from one of the ten participating businesses and the business will donate 25 cents to the initiative.
Organizers say Pints for Polio typically brings in a decent chunk of change for the cause.
“In the past, I believe last year we raised about $2,300 for our local group,” said Marquette West Rotary Member Kyle Danek. “That’s a lot of beer.”
The ten participating businesses are:
906 Sports Bar & Grill - Marquette
Barrel + Beam - Marquette Township
Blackrocks Brewery - Marquette
Drifa Brewing Company - Marquette
Holiday Inn - Marquette
Iron Bay - Marquette
Jackson’s Pit - Negaunee
Kognisjon Bryggeri – Marquette
Up North Lodge - Gwinn
Vango’s - Marquette
