Survey Says: Here are Virginia's favorite snack foods
With National Snack Day set to be celebrated on March 4, Virginians – and much of the Southeastern U.S. – have lined up behind Doritos as their favorite snack of choice.
A new survey by Hubscore crunched the data to come up with the five favorite snack foods in each state. For the Old Dominion, following Doritos in order were Cheetos, Fritos, Rice Krispie Treats and Cheerios.
(Other options on the table were Starburst, Goldfish, Chex Mix, Lays and Pringles. For the state-by-state rundown, see the Website at https://hubscore.co/rating/favorite-snack-by-state.)
Doritos holds an almost fortress-like lock on the top spot throughout virtually the entire Southeast down to Florida and west to Arkansas – along with being tops in Maryland, Delaware, Ohio and Rhode Island. Cheetos is the snack of choice in a swath of the Southwest, starting in Louisiana and moving all the way to California, while Rice Krispies picks up the top spot in 18 states, the most of any snack, its appeal ranging from Maine to Oregon.
Among other states states: Lays potato chips rank tops in New York and Connecticut, while Cheerios is tops in New Jersey. Fritos and Chex Mix are tops in three states apiece.
