NHL trade deadline tracker: Latest rumors, news, updates for 2022 deadline day

We are hours away from the clock striking midnight 3 p.m. for teams to finalize a trade before the NHL trade deadline. 

NHL general managers have just under 15 hours in order to improve their team now or help build the franchise's future. 

It's one of the craziest days of the hockey season, with players all of a sudden getting sent from one franchise to another. Teams that are eyeing a Stanley Cup have an opportunity to give up draft picks and prospects to get players that help the club win now, while other teams can sell of pending free agents, getting value in return for someone that was going to walk away for nothing in the summer. 

The madness has already begun with a number of notable names having been moved ahead of Monday, but that doesn't mean there aren't more deals to be made.

9:33 a.m. — John Klingberg, who had reportedly asked for a trade earlier this season, is likely staying with the Stars

Sense is still that the Dallas Stars, in a playoff race, are most likely keeping pending UFA D John Klingberg although slight window open in the event the offer is tantalizing. Most likely staying, however.

8:47 a.m. — One name that has not been mentioned before in trade rumors is John Gibson, but it's going around today. There have been few goaltenders on the trade block but he could be one of them

Would certainly be a significant deal if it happens, but it sounds like the #FlyTogether will listen. He has a 10-team no-trade list.

8:21 a.m. — Marcus Johansson, a pending free agent on the Kraken, could be traded today. He would be the sixth Kraken player moved this deadline already

Keep an eye on Marcus Johansson before the deadline. The #caps have interest in bringing back the veteran forward.

7:50 a.m. — Karel Vejmelka is off the trade board, as the Coyotes have given the goaltender a three-year extension 

Sounds like a 3-year contract for Karel Vejmelka.

7:48 a.m. — The Flyers are not expected to be active sellers, keeping Travis Konecny and Ivan Provorov. Only deal they are expected to make is to move Justin Braun

Expecting the Philadelphia Flyers to be pretty quiet outside of a deal for Justin Braun.

7:30 a.m. — Sounds like Andrew Cogliano will be on the move today as the Sharks shop the pending free agent forward
