“We have arrived in April, one of the most powerful months of the year,” begins Jetteke van Lexmond, co-founder of the Moonsisters about the upcoming new moon on 8 April, 2024. She explains: “We are in the middle of the solar eclipse season and Mercury has been in retrograde since 1 April 1 until 25 April 2024. The lunar expert also reveals: “We have just had a full moon and a partial lunar eclipse, and on 8 April we will experience a new moon and a full solar eclipse. And that's not all: on April 20, we have the strongest planetary conjunction of the year: the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction. In short, buckle up.”

The universe gives you what you need for your soul’s growth

The past full moon and accompanying eclipse were all about letting go. “This eclipse is still having an effect and will continue to have an effect for the next few months,” says Jetteke van Lexmond. “After all, eclipses are turning points and moments of endings and new beginnings.” Many of us are now facing life-changing decisions that can no longer be postponed, have received a strong wake-up call or are going through a crisis. “Be aware that the universe doesn't always give you what you want, but it does give you what you need for your soul's growth.”

We are facing a time in which the pressure is increasing and therefore, we will increasingly be reminded of “who you really are and what unique contribution you are making to the ‘grand cosmic plan’”, says the moon expert. Unprocessed emotions and traumas could be drawn to the surface: “It can feel like the levees have broken and everything is rushing out all at once and in bursts. Make space for your process and let it happen!” summarises Jetteke van Lexmond.

The super new moon in the sign of Aries meets a total solar eclipse

On 8 April, you can expect a super new moon for the third time in a row. It will be in the sign of Aries and will coincide with a total solar eclipse. “A super powerful combination”, as Jetteke van Lexmond says, adding: “The fiery, driven Aries is eager and ready for fruitful new beginnings.” The solar eclipse will not be visible everywhere, “but it will be visible in Texas, North America and parts of Canada. The solar eclipse will have the greatest impact there.” Everyone else will also be affected by this new moon and the total solar eclipse. “The effect is different for everyone. Some experience a radiant new beginning, others struggle with trauma and lose themselves for a while,” says the moon expert, who goes on to explain: “A lot has been written and a lot of fuss has been made about the solar eclipse. In the past, total solar eclipses were seen as something terrible, as the light—and therefore the source of life on Earth—is temporarily obscured. Today, we know that solar eclipses are temporary events that block the sun’s light for a moment and then release a tremendous force. Compare it to water that you hold back with a dam, that flows faster after the dam is removed.” It is therefore quite possible that you will feel this “surge of light” in the days following the solar eclipse.

You can also expect the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction at the end of April

But that's not all. Jetteke van Lexmond reveals: “No sooner have we recovered from the eclipses that the next cosmic highlight will take place on 20 April, 2024: the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction.” The two planets will be together again for the first time since 2011. “When Jupiter, the planet of growth, happiness and abundance, and Uranus, the planet of transformation, renewal and revolution, come together, you can expect fireworks, breakthroughs, surprising twists and turns and a gigantic shift in consciousness.
