Peacemaker release date officially revealed for Mortal Kombat 1 after delay rumors
No mention of Krossplay though
It's been around three months since Mortal Kombat 1 received Quan Chi as the most recent DLC character, and we now know when the next is finally dropping.
After rumors began circulating about a delay, NetherRealm Studios has now confirmed the Early Access release date for DC's Peacemaker in Mortal Kombat 1.
"Peacemaker is preparing for his arrival in the New Era," reads the official post on X/Twitter. "Early access will be available on February 28, along with the arrival of the new season around the same time. Details on both will be coming later this month."
Since the Early Access period gives Kombat Pack owners a one-week head start technically, that means John Cena's vigilante's full release date will be March 6, 2024.
This all comes after the MK community noticed the Season 3: The Cryomancer content countdown had been recently extended two full weeks longer than originally planned, which led to the rumors that Peacemaker would be delayed by around that amount of time too.
It appears that intuition was correct considering Feb. 28 pretty much lines up with the new end of Season 3 though NetherRealm is still hitting Peacemaker's release window, but just barely.
What is interesting and a little concerning, however, is this post makes no mention of Krossplay, which was supposed to release alongside the next DLC character.
Now we no longer know if the long-awaited feature that'll join together the playerbases of PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC will be even further delayed beyond the end of the month.
It also remains to be seen if this apparent Peacemaker delay will impact Ermac, The Boys' Homelander and Takeda's release dates down the pipeline as well this Spring and Summer.
At least we'll have a new gameplay trailer, Kombat Kast, and more to look forward to for MK1 in the coming weeks where we'll hopefully hear more information about what's coming to the game.
