'Mamma Mia!' opens while Boogie and the Yo-Yoz host holiday show
Music fans in the Fox Valley have a lot of options this week, including Boogie and the Yo-Yoz' annual holiday concert, as well as the Appleton Boychoir’s A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.
For something other than holiday music, there are night hikes at local nature centers, “Mamma Mia!” returns to the Fox Cities PAC and the glass museum in Neenah will hold an Art After Dark event.

Boogie and the Yo-Yoz to perform annual holiday concert Dec. 14
Boogie and the Yo-Yoz will present their annual concert, “Christmas With You,” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14. The show will be at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, 400 W. College Ave., Appleton.
The band will perform classic carols along with new original Christmas songs.

Appleton Boychoir presents ‘A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols’
The Appleton Boychoir will present its holiday event, A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, at 1 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Lawrence Memorial Chapel, 510 E. College Ave., Appleton.
Joining the Appleton Boychoir is special guest Copper Street Brass. They will present traditional Christmas songs.

‘Mamma Mia!’ musical to run Dec. 17-22 at the Fox Cities PAC
The musical, “Mamma Mia!” returns to the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center Dec. 17 to 22.
The play synopsis reads: “A mother. A daughter. 3 possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget! Set on a Greek island paradise where the sun always shines, a tale of love, friendship and identity is beautifully told through the timeless hits of ABBA. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the father she’s never known brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited decades ago.”

Costumes encouraged for Regency Era themed Art After Dark
Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass presents “Art After Dark - The Event of the Season,” on Dec. 19. The free community event runs 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. It is a Bridgerton/Regency Era themed event, and costumes are encouraged.
The Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra will provide entertainment and there will be food and beverages to enjoy. Attendees also can create a one-of-a-kind fan.
The museum will collect donations for Saving Paws at the event. Some of the requested items include Tidy Cats litter, scratching cardboards, canned food, hard dog chews (no rawhide), antlers, canned pumpkin, paper towels, bleach, antibacterial hand soap, Dawn dish detergent, facial tissue, laundry detergent, fabric softener, and nitrile gloves – all sizes especially large.

Nighttime hikes offered at local nature centers
1000 Islands Environmental Center in Kaukauna will host a Silent Night Hike on Dec. 17.
Lace up your hiking boots and enjoy a walk on the trails during this self-guided hike. The event is open 5 to 7 p.m.. Admission is free.

Celebrate Winter and the end of 2024 with Heckrodt Wetland Reserve on Dec. 19. Sessions available at 5 or 6 p.m.
The torch-lit hike will take visitors through some unique parts of the Reserve. Participants also will receive a craft s'mores kit to enjoy by the campfire.
Admission is $10 per person with children 2 and younger admitted free. Tickets may be purchased in advance online at heckrodtnaturecenter.org under the “Store” link.
