D'Angelo Russell Provides Comfort for Lakers Following Disheartening LeBron James Update Prior to Vital Bucks Matchup

The Milwaukee Bucks have a six-game winning streak at home. Tonight, they face the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the Lakers will be without their star player LeBron James. He’s sidelined due to a left ankle injury. This marks James’ 10th missed game this season, including both games against the Bucks. Initially doubtful, James was ruled out due to ankle soreness. The official injury report cites left ankle peroneal tendinopathy.

James has been grappling with left ankle issues for several months, and the last game he missed was on March 8, also against the Bucks. Despite his injury concerns, James played 38 minutes in Sunday night’s 150-145 victory over the Indiana Pacers, where he scored 26 points and recorded 10 assists. This season, he has been averaging 25.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game.

However, to the Laker nation’s relief, D’Angelo Russell will be playing as he wasn’t on the injury report. Since Russell’s absence, the Lakers have been 1-5, winning the last game at home against the Indiana Pacers. Spencer Dinwiddie was the starting point guard in D’Lo’s place scoring 26 points against the Pacers.

Though, the Lake show will sorely miss Bron’s presence having the All-Star back in the line-up before the road trip is comforting, to say the least. Tonight’s showdown is crucial against the Bucks with Russell as he went off the last time they faced off.

Lakers vs. Bucks last matchup

The upcoming game presents Milwaukee with an opportunity to avenge their recent 123-122 loss against Los Angeles earlier in the month. Despite holding a six-point lead with less than two minutes remaining, the Bucks succumbed to a remarkable 44-point performance by the Lakers’ D’Angelo Russell on March 8. Following that defeat, the Bucks (46-25) have secured victories in five of their last seven games, including a convincing 118-93 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder at home on Sunday.

Their encounter with Los Angeles remains one of only four losses in their previous 15 games. That is both a challenge and the curse for the Lakers at this point who will be heading into the Fiserv forum with their franchise star. Can Los Angeles repeat victory against the Bucks?
