It’s hard to name a more talked about and controversial tuner than Liberty Walk. The Japanese company is known for its widebody kits that have been applied to everything from hot hatchbacks to Lamborghini supercars and the Mitsuoka Orochi. Liberty Walk even worked its magic on a Lamborghini Miura replica, and last year it stole the show at the Tokyo Auto Salon with a modded Ferrari F40 that apparently led Ferrari to remove the car from its official registry.

For this year’s TAS the company has turned up the controversy dial by debuting a phenomenal Lamborghini Countach with a signature Liberty Walk body kit. Preempting the heated online discussion that is sure to ensure over the coming days, Liberty Walk commented the following on Instagram: “We are doing whatever we want.” Hell yes, kings!

Of course there are the requisite bolted-on fender flares, completely slammed suspension, and wide wheels. The Liberty Walk Countach also has a front bumper reminiscent of the Diablo GT and the famed JGTC Countach, extreme front canards, a giant rear wing, a race car–like rear diffuser and some upward-angled exhaust tips. Smaller mods include round mirrors, a modified taillight panel and a roof scoop.

Liberty Walk didn’t release any interior photos, but racing bucket seats with harnesses are visible. We also don’t know if the show car has any performance modifications in addition to the suspension setup, but I don’t think it really matters either way. Whoever purchases this body kit for their Countach will surely add a twin-turbo kit and other mods — if they haven’t already, that is.

Japanese Lamborghini owners are notorious for modifying and driving the hell out of their supercars. I’ve seen photos everything from Countaches and Diablos to modern Aventadors decked out in widebody kits, big wheels, underglow, wild graphics and other mods that would be deemed gauche or blasphemous by brand purists.

I say fuck the purists. The entire point of a supercar is to be outrageous and attention grabbing, and modified Lambos do that better than anything else. The Liberty Walk Countach rules.
