Jeremy Strong Says He Doesn't Miss Playing Kendall Roy On 'Succession': "It F***ed Me Up"

Jeremy Strong has closed the Kendall Roy chapter of his life and is ready to move on.

The Succession star said in a recent interview that he does not miss playing the character he gave life to on the HBO drama for four seasons.

“It f*** me up,” Strong told The Sunday Times about playing Kendall.

Strong says that Succession “was an incalculable gift” and added, “The material a banquet. So I miss that. But Kendall’s struggle was difficult to carry for seven years. And there’s just so much more I want to do.”

The actor won an Emmy in 2020 for his role in the series, but don’t expect him to carry Kendall on in a spinoff series.

“It’s not something I have any wish to do any longer. I’m aware it is one of the main chapters of my life, but I don’t miss it,” he said.

Jesse Armstrong created Succession about the Roy family and their fight for control of the global media company amid concerns over the patriarch’s health. The series also starred Brian Cox, Hiam Abbass, Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin, Peter Friedman, Natalie Gold, Matthew Macfadyen, Alan Ruck, and Sarah Snook, among many others.

Strong might have left Succession behind, but not the name Roy. The actor gives life to Roy Cohn in The Apprentice, a biographical film directed by Ali Abbasi about Donald Trump’s career as a real estate businessman in New York City. Cohn was a lawyer who represented and mentored Trump during his early business career.
