Historic Thunder Bay landmark the Finnish Labour Temple/Finlandia Club

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO, December 22, 2021  (LSNews)  This evening around 7 pm  fire broke out at the Finnish Labour Temple/Finlandia Club also known as the Hoito on Bay street

Crews opened the roof during the blaze, to cause heavy streams of fire and smoke to exit the building.

There are eight pumpers and two aerial ladder trucks fighting the fire. 

No injuries have been reported at this time, though damage to the building seems extensive. 

Once the fire fighters cut a whole in the roof flames and smoke could be seen for miles around 

Hundreds of people lined Algoma at Bay street in the -12.8 degree temperature to watch the fire .
