HDR: Recalled heat pumps could blast hot air despite being set to A/C

HDR Recalled heat pumps could blast hot air despite being set to AC
If there's a power outage or blip, these units could start blasting heat into your home when the power comes back on.

As if it’s not hot enough, heat pumps are being recalled because they could kick on, even with your thermostat set to A/C.

The problem is with three brands: Diakin FIT, Amana S-series and Goodman SD heat pumps that provide heating and cooling.

If there's a power outage or blip, these units could start blasting heat into your home when the power comes back on.

The good news is if your unit is connected to WiFi, Daikin Comfort Technologies is updating software remotely to fix the problem.

If your system is not connected to WiFi, register for the recall here to get the update.
