Frankie Muniz Jr in Awe At Fords New 815 HP Monster As They Cap Off a
Dominant Year with Another Record
Frankie Muniz expresses awe of the newest launch from Ford, the GD mustang which is exceptional and will be setting records.

Cars and speed seem to be the two best friends for drivers on track, and this time, Ford has taken the lead ahead, setting an exceptional record. The 2025 Ford Mustang GD is one of the most exceptional launches this year and is much anticipated as well. Given the kind of power it houses with 815 horsepower, one can easily term it the ultimate “beast.”

But if you think that horsepower is the only driving source of power for the car, then you might be mistaken. The car also comes with a torque of 664 lb-ft and a top speed of 202 mph, only one of a kind. However, Ford has some other plans for 2025 that only a car of this power can achieve, and the NASCAR champion, Frankie Muniz, cannot help but be in awe of this Ford beauty.

Ford’s GD Mustang can be the most iconic driver’s car on tracks

The statistics of the car are highly impressive, and this has helped the car to earn the title of Ford’s most extreme street-legal Mustang ever. The synchronization of the car is such that it can make heads turn both on the road as well as on the racing tracks. This one has been designed with a lot of consideration, and it topples all other Mustangs that have ever been designed by Ford in the past. The Mustang GTD stands out with its certified horsepower and torque, advanced active aerodynamics, and high-performance carbon-ceramic brakes. This piece of excellence also comes with a sophisticated inboard rear suspension that features semi-active dampers.

The current focus of Ford in 2025 is to set records straight and complete the Nürburgring lap in just seven minutes. This is exactly what this particular Ford envisions achieving. The supercharged 5.2-liter V8 marks a significant improvement over previous Mustang engines. It features Mustang’s first-ever dry-sump oil system, ensuring consistent lubrication during intense cornering. One of the advanced bits of dry sump oil is that it also enables an elevated maximum engine speed of 7,650 rpm.

However, this is not the first time that Ford has been able to set a record for themselves. In 2024 itself, Ford’s Super Cobra Jet 1800 set up a record for being the fastest electric-quarter mile pass. The Mustang Mach-E from the house of Ford is also an exceptional car that has rooted various records. From achieving the shortest charging time on the iconic John O’Groats to Land’s End route to making the fewest charging stops along the same journey, there are multiple Guinness Book mentions.

Even the GD Mustang is indeed a good addition for both drivers on and off the tracks, it seems even Frankie Muniz Jr. is excited about this edition. Muniz seemed to be ecstatic over the unveiling video of the car and took to Instagram, sharing his excitement. He wrote, “Huge congrats to @ford for being the first American car and only the 6th production car to do a sub-7 minute lap time around Nurburgring with the new Mustang GTD. 6:57:685! I can’t wait to get mine! @fordperformance #fordmustang”.

While it might be common to think that the car is only about speed, in reality, it offers much more than that. It is the latest engineering specifics of the car that ensure maximum efficacy and new speed prospects. The car also comes with an advanced drag reduction system that can take everyone by surprise. It can change the angle of the rear wing, and consequently, you will be able to activate the flaps that are under the car. This allows the car to strike the perfect balance between the airflow for speed and downforce for grip.

Speaking of this latest advancement and the kind of efficacy it is supposed to bring on tracks, Mustang GTD Chief Program Engineer Greg Goodall said, “We’ve been laser focused since day 1 to make Mustang GTD the first-ever supercar with world-class performance and the soul of a Mustang. GTD’s heart is its supercharged 5.2-liter V8, packing more horsepower per liter than the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.”

Frankie Muniz yearns to bring Slim Jim back on the sponsorship radar

Slim Jim was one of the most iconic sponsors to ever last in NASCAR history, and while the yellow-red branding looked iconic, the brand chose to bid adieu to the tracks in 1990. The #44 car became one of the most iconic cars of the Busch Grand National Series in the mid-1990s. With the help of this car, David Green of Bobby Labonte Racing achieved a total of 9 top-five finishes like a breeze. For anyone who wanted to carve their legacy in the NASCAR tracks, this became the ultimate symbol.

Given Muniz’s childhood passion for the tracks, this car, and the branding it sported, remained rooted in his thoughts forever. Recalling his avid memory and the dormant wish in his heart to bring back the iconic branding life, Muniz tweeted, “I really want to race a @SlimJim truck next season. It would be a full-circle moment of the car I used to root for when I was 8”.

While Frankie Muniz’s dream of racing a Slim Jim-branded truck is heartfelt and nostalgic, it remains a distant possibility. Slim Jim has shown no indications of making a full return to NASCAR sponsorship, despite its iconic legacy on the tracks. The brand did, however, make a rare special appearance with Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
