FIFA reveals dates for 2027 World Cup

Meeting via videoconference on the eve of the extraordinary congress on Wednesday, December 11, the FIFA Council considered the issue of the Women's World Cup in Brazil in 2027. It decided on the dates: the global tournament will take place from June 24 to July 25. The body also unveiled the qualification process. Twenty-nine places out of 32 will be distributed directly according to the continental confederations: six places for Asia (AFC), four for Africa (CAF), four for North, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), three for South America (CONMEBOL), including that of the host country, Brazil, one for Oceania (OFC), and finally 11 for Europe (UEFA). The last three places will be awarded at the end of a ten-team play-off tournament, played in two phases, in November-December 2026 for the first, then in February 2027 for the second.
