McLarens Daniel Ricciardo tests positive for COVID19

McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo tested positive for COVID-19 but will be released in time for the Bahrain Grand Prix, the Formula One team announced Friday.

McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo tested positive for COVID-19 but will be released in time for the Bahrain Grand Prix, the Formula One team announced Friday.

After "feeling unwell from Wednesday onwards" during testing in Bahrain, McLaren said in a statement that the Australian has returned a positive PCR test.

McLaren added that under local regulations, Ricciardo will be released in time for the Bahrain Grand Prix set to be held next weekend.

Ricciardo's teammate Lando Norris will take part in the final pre-season test in Bahrain on Saturday.
