The Copa America 2024 will see a special edition of the tournament take place in the United States — and Canada will be there to enjoy the party.
Les Rouges were one of the last teams to book their qualification, but they had to do it the hard way after beating Trinidad and Tobago in a CONCACAF Nations League playoff match in Texas on March 23.
Victory not only earned them a spot alongside 10 teams from South America's CONMEBOL region and five others from CONCACAF, but it ensured they will also open the tournament.
They will face defending champions Argentina, and a possible matchup with Lionel Messi, when the competition begins on June 20.

Canada Copa America 2024 group
The initial phase of the Copa America will feature four groups of four teams each, with Canada placed in Group A alongside Argentina, Peru and Chile.
The top two finishers in each group will advance to the knockout stage, which will feature eight teams parsed out in a single-elimination bracket.

Canada schedule, matches at Copa America 2024
Canada will have the honor of opening the tournament on June 20 against defending champions Argentina.
From there, they will face Peru in what will likely be a must-win encounter before they close out group play against Chile.

Canada possible knockout schedule, matches, bracket at Copa America 2024
If Canada qualifies from the group stage, their quarterfinal match will be against one of the teams from Group B: Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela or Jamaica.
Were they to top the group, that match would be at the NRG Stadium in Houston on Thursday, July 4 against the Group B runner-up.
If they finish second, their match would take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Friday, July 5 against the winner of Group B.
In the case of advancing to the semifinals, regardless of group placement, the match will be on Tuesday, July 9 at Metlife in East Rutherford.
The final will take place on Sunday, July 14 at the Hard Rock in Miami.
