BlackFog wins AIbased cybersecurity innovation award
BlackFog has been honoured with the title of ‘AI-based Cybersecurity Innovation of the Year’ at the 2024 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards for its ADX technology.

BlackFog has been awarded the title of "AI-based Cybersecurity Innovation of the Year" in the 2024 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards.

CyberSecurity Breakthrough, an independent organisation that evaluates companies, technologies, and products in the global information security sector, selected BlackFog for its unique approach to combating ransomware and data exfiltration. The award recognises the company's efforts in delivering cybersecurity solutions through its Anti Data Exfiltration (ADX) technology.

BlackFog's ADX technology distinguishes itself by filtering network traffic in real-time using advanced AI algorithms to prevent data exfiltration and lateral movement of malware. This approach allows the technology to stop ransomware attacks before they can be activated or spread within an organisation, differing from traditional methods that focus on perimeter protection.

Dr. Darren Williams, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of BlackFog, commented on the award: "Ransomware is now the number one cybersecurity threat, and the stakes are higher than ever before.

"By taking a different approach using ADX, BlackFog blocks 99% of ransomware and 100% of our customers have never had a successful ransomware attack. We're honoured to receive the CyberSecurity Breakthrough Award for 'AI-based Cybersecurity Innovation of the Year.'

"We understand the needs of our customers and are committed to protecting them from ransomware and other zero-day attacks across a broad range of platforms and legacy systems," Williams says.

The CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards aim to celebrate excellence and innovation across numerous information security categories, such as Cloud Security, Threat Intelligence, Risk Management, and more. The 2024 edition of the program received thousands of nominations from over 20 countries.

Steve Johansson, Managing Director at CyberSecurity Breakthrough, discussed BlackFog's accomplishments: "From its Virtual CISO platform to competitive pricing BlackFog is helping thousands of customers prevent the loss of sensitive data.

"Gone are the days of hackers using encryption as their weapon of choice; today, data is the ultimate prize for cybercriminals," he says.

"Ransomware attacks involving data exfiltration have hit an all-time high and most organisations are relying on 20+ cybersecurity tools to prevent them. While other solutions are predominantly focused on watching the perimeter and trying to keep attackers out, BlackFog's pioneering approach not only challenges the traditional cybersecurity paradigm but also effectively shields enterprises from the evolving tactics of cybercriminals."

BlackFog's ADX technology has further been recognised across industry awards for its capability in threat intelligence, data leak detection, and ransomware protection, reaffirming the importance of an on-device strategy in modern cybersecurity practices.
