Vile Respiratory Infection Spreading Like Wildfire in Missouri
I heard someone mention the other day that "the crud" was happening all around the state of Missouri lately and decided to dig into what's really going on. I've learned that there really is a vile respiratory infection that is spreading across Missouri like wildfire now and you need to know what's at risk.
I have several confirmations that this respiratory infection in Missouri is a real danger. It's known by most as the "walking pneumonia". The Centers for Disease Control are saying that the bacteria Mycoplasma pneumoniae is what's responsible and the cases have been exploding in many parts of America. Right now, their bulleting says it's very much a problem in what they categorize as Region 7 which is Missouri, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska.
Walking pneumonia is especially problematic and dangerous for the very young or old and those with compromised immune systems.
How can you prevent the walking pneumonia and the bacteria that causes it?
The Mayo Clinic mentions that covering your mouth and nose when you sneeze is crucial and vigilant hand washing is a must. The bacteria can be spread by water droplets in the air which makes this contagious if you're near someone who is sick.
I really try to not be paranoid as this is the cold and flu season, but I've noticed more coughing than usual in the Missouri stores I've been in. You can never be too careful as this is one variation of pneumonia you don't want you or yours to have to deal with.
