HT: Arsenal 2-0 Newcastle
A chastening first half for Newcastle, who may be relieved to only be two goals down.
They haven't had a shot and have only had one touch in the Arsenal box. That touch came from Miguel Almiron, but it wouldn't have counted had the referee opted against playing on rather than calling an offside as the home side had already won possession back.
Arsenal have been thoroughly dominant, Newcastle can't hold on to the ball – which is a frustratingly familiar issue for them on the road – and there have been so many poor displays from the visitors, especially Fabian Schar and Sven Botman.
Loris Karius has actually arguably been Newcastle's man of the match so far, which says it all really.
