Redmi K80 series breaks sales records with over 1 million units sold in just 10 days
The Redmi K80 series has made an impressive debut, surpassing 1 million units sold within just 10 days, setting a new record for the fastest time to reach this milestone in the K series history. The series, which launched on November 27th, saw immediate success with over 660,000 units sold on the first day alone, breaking the previous first-day sales records for the K series.
Redmi’s General Manager, Wang Teng Thomas, expressed his confidence in the K80 series, predicting it to become the flagship smartphone of 2025. The series represents Redmi’s most powerful flagship to date, featuring significant upgrades in performance, battery life, and camera capabilities.
Redmi K80 series at a glance
Starting at a competitive price of 2,499 Yuan (~$345), the Redmi K80 series includes the standard K80 model and the K80 Pro. The K80 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, while the K80 Pro has the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.
Both models feature a flat OLED LTPS display that offers a 2K resolution and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner. The Redmi K80 comes equipped with a 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup, a 6,550mAh battery, and supports 90W wired fast charging. The Redmi K80 Pro, on the other hand, offers a triple camera system with two 50-megapixel sensors and a 32-megapixel sensor, a 6,000mAh battery, 120W wired fast charging, and 50W wireless charging.
During the launch event, Xiaomi also celebrated a significant milestone for the Redmi brand, announcing that total shipments over the past 11 years have exceeded 1.11 billion units, covering 105 countries and regions globally.
In related news, the brand is now gearing up to launch the Redmi Turbo 4 this month. Speculations suggest that it will arrive with a 1.5K OLED panel, the Dimensity 8400 chipset, and support 90W fast charging.
