More than just a sporting event: Ukraine's Euro 2024 hopes

Ukraine’s national football team will play its first match of the UEFA European Football Championship against Romania in Munich on June 17. In the midst of war, Ukraine gained a place in the tournament at the last minute, sparking a massive wave of emotion in the country and also in Germany, where more than one and a half million Ukrainian refugees are still living.
