According to Environment Canada parts of the province are expected to get 10 to 20 centimetres of snow throughout Wednesday.
At times through the snowfall, visibility might be reduced to near zero, and travel may become difficult in some areas.
The snowfall is only expected to last until Wednesday night, and conditions should improve on Thursday.
The City of Winnipeg says crews will begin plowing main routes, sidewalks, and pathways Wednesday night.
The annual winter route parking ban is in effect around the city. During the parking ban, drivers will not be allowed to park on streets marked with winter route signs between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.
