Rosanna Law congratulates Siobhan Haughey on gold medal win at World Aquatics Championships
16th December 2024 – (Hong Kong) The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Miss Rosanna Law, today congratulated Hong Kong swimmer Siobhan Bernadette Haughey for her remarkable achievement at the World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) in Budapest, where she secured a gold medal in the Women’s 200m Freestyle.
In a display of exceptional talent, Haughey clocked a time of 1:50.62, finishing 0.87 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor, Mary-Sophie Harvey of Canada. The bronze medal was awarded to Claire Weinstein of the United States, who finished with a time of 1:51.62. This victory marks another significant milestone for Haughey, following her impressive performance at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Miss Law expressed her pride in Haughey’s accomplishments, stating, “Siobhan Bernadette Haughey once again triumphed in an international competition.
