Bissell recalls 3 million handheld steamers for burn risk
(CNN) - Bissell recalled more than 3 million Steam Shot Handheld Steam Cleaners due to a burn hazard.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled steam cleaners can shoot hot water or steam onto users during use or while heating.
The recall covers multiple models in the model series 39-N-7 and 29-94. The model numbers are on the product rating label at the bottom of the unit.
The recalled steamers have “Steam Shot” or “Power Steamer” printed on the side.
Consumers should contact Bissell for either a $60 credit for a Bissell.com purchase or a $40 refund for each of the recalled steam cleaners.
The company has received 183 reports of hot water or steam escaping from the steamers including 157 reports of minor burn injuries.
