This kid continues to impress. 21-year-old Lucknow fast bowler Mayank Yadav continued intimidating the opposition with his incredible pace. After derailing Punjab's chase in Lucknow in his Indian Premier League debut, Mayank rattled RCB batters in their chase of 182 in LSG's second away game of the IPL 2024 season at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Legendary fast bowlers, including Dale Steyn and Ian Bishop, were in awe of the young fast bowler, who proved that he was not a one-match wonder.

Mayank Yadav beat Australian batters, who have grown up batting on pace-friendly pitches, for pace in a sight that would have thrilled Indian cricket fans. The 21-year-old from Delhi first sent Glenn Maxwell packing with a bouncer. The Australian all-rounder was beaten for pace before he could middle the ball while trying to pull Mayank's short ball in the very first over of the pacer. After LSG bowled 4 overs of spin through Krunal Pandya and M Siddharth in the powerplay, Mayank Yadav bowling 150 kph thunderbolts was too hot to handle for RCB batters as Maxwell perished for 0 in the powerplay.

In his second over, Mayank Yadav beat Cameron Green for pace. The Western Australia was not even able to bring his bat down in time as his stumps were shattered. Mayank's control was incredible once again as he kept the batters guessing. It looked as if Cameron Green was expecting a bouncer and hanging back, but Mayank surprised him with a delivery that would have made Test regulars proud as it hit the top of the off-stump.

During the fiery first spell, Mayank Yadav also broke his own record for the fastest delivery of IPL 2024 as he bowled a 156.7 kph thunderbolt. He had bowled 155.8 kph in Lucknow's win over Punjab, which was the fastest delivery of the season until Tuesday.

Notably, Mayank Yadav impressed on his debut so much so that Stuart Broad backed the young pacer to make his India debut in the next 18 months. Mayank had beaten the likes of Jonny Bairstow for pace on his IPL debut, picking up 3 wickets in a sensational show of fast bowling.
