Before he gave one of the greatest perfomances on television as Walter White in Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston was Hal, the goofy, loveable Dad on Malcolm In The Middle, whose perfect comic timing is every bit as brilliant as his dramatic work – see the scene in one episode where he has to get rid of a spider as an example of that.

One of the first early 2000s sitcoms to popularise the single camera format, Malcolm In The Middle was created by Linwood Boomer, who previously produced the failed US adaptation of Red Dwarf.
