Raiders QB Gardner Minshew out for season after suffering broken collarbone in loss to Broncos
The Raiders trailed the Broncos, 26-19, at the time of Minshew's exit. The veteran QB's day ended with him going 25-of-42 passing for 230 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Desmond Ridder entered the game for Minshew and fumbled the ball away on his second snap. On his next possession, the Raiders' backup QB led a drive into the red zone but it didn't result in any points as time expired once Ridder was sacked on the game's final play.
Minshew began the 2024 season as the Raiders' starter but lost his job to Aidan O'Connell by Week 6 following a 2-3 start to the season. When O'Connell suffered a fractured thumb against the Rams the following week, Minshew found himself back where he started, but couldn't turn around Las Vegas' woes.
Sunday's 10-point defeat to the Broncos marked the seventh straight loss for Las Vegas.
Ridder seems to be in line to start in Week 13, but O'Connell, whose fractured thumb was expected to keep him out for four to six weeks, is eligible to come off injured reserve this week. That potential return has two days fewer than any normal week, however, as the Raiders face the Kansas City Chiefs on Black Friday.
