Packers-Lions game preview Sunday: time, TV, Jordan Love injury update
With Jordan Love out, Packers running back Josh Jacobs stepped up
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs talks after his 127 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the win over the Jaguars.
The pregame hype for the NFC North showdown between the 6-2 Green Bay Packers and the 6-1 Detroit Lions Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field is well-deserved.
But it'll be overshadowed by the status of quarterback Jordan Love this week.
Love hurt his groin in the Packers' 30-27 victory over Jacksonville on Sunday. Though the injury isn't serious, the Packers could choose to rest him. They're 3-0 when Malik Willis has filled in for Love and they have a bye after the Lions game.
But Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that Love will be play Sunday if he's healthy enough.
"If he can go, he'll go," LaFleur said. "So, we'll see where he's at by the end of the week and, if we feel like he can't protect himself, then we certainly wouldn't put him in that position."

Jordan Love injury update
Following an MRI Monday, Love’s status is no worse off than it was Sunday, when it was thought his groin injury wasn’t bad enough to rule him out this week.

Jaire Alexander injury update
Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander came up hobbled when trying to cover Jaguars tight end Evan Engram on a 14-yard touchdown pass with 1 minute, 48 seconds left. Alexander was unable to put any weight on his right leg as Engram went up for the pass, a noncontact injury.
Tests showed Alexander's injury isn't serious but he's got a lot of soreness, a league source said. Alexander will have to work that out to play this week, so his status is up in the air.
