Week 14 Game Highlights and Lowlights: Packers vs. Lions

Week 14 Game Highlights and Lowlights Packers vs Lions
All the action from the Packers and Lions’ final showdown of the regular season.

The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions faced off for their final matchup of the regular season, and while Green Bay started slow, they turned the jets on in the second half and made it a game. Ultimately, the Lions ended up winning a close one on the last play, 34-31. Take a look at all the highlights from the Packers’ Thursday night heartbreaker.

Stars came out in droves to see one of the most anticipated divisional matchups of the season

That’s right. Big names were in Detroit tonight. People like Barry Sanders, Keegan-Michael Key, Flavor Flav, Calvin Johnson, Chad Smith, and...I guess the Grinch. Ok.

The Lions start off hot as David Montgomery waltzes into the endzone

On a drive full of soft coverage, the Packers allow the Lions to march down the field and get the first points of the game.

The guy who holds a grudge against every team he’s ever played for did a thing

He who must not be named gets a sack on the Packers’ very first offensive play of the game. I’m sorry but we can’t let him leave this game happy.

THE PACK CAN SACK, TOO

Rashan Gary forces the Lions to punt after a clutch sack on 3rd down while the Lions are deep in their own territory. They unfortunately don’t do anything with their next drive, and give the ball right back the Lions after a three and out.

Christian Watson makes a play and then...coughs it up

What looked like a nice little first down pickup turned into Lions ball after Christian Watson fumbles while being tackled. NOT GREAT, BOB!

Love’s got legs!

Love is able to pick up the first down on his longest run of the season, 14 yards. Big effort by Bo Melton with the block to allow it to happen.

The Pack are back in it and get on the board with a Josh Jacobs TD

It took them a little while to get their first points of the game, but the Packers are within 3 points of the Lions after Josh Jacobs takes it in for the score. Also...look at Rasheed Walker at the top of the line.

The Lions make it look easy with a TD as the first half expires

The Lions make it a 10-point game again as they march down the field with ease and get back into the endzone. The vibes heading into halftime? Stinky, very stinky.

REDEMPTION for Christian Watson

Jordan Love doesn’t punish Christian Watson for the fumble, and goes right back to him to start the second half. It pays off (pretend he didn’t drop the very next pass after this.)

The Packers quickly find the endzone to make it a 3-point game again

Tucker Kraft is Mr. Reliable, and gets the Packers right back in it with a quick score on third down. This looked like one of those throws they used to say Brett Favre would break hands with.

IS THAT A MOMENTUM SWING I SMELL?

Keisean Nixon grabs his first pick of the season, and it couldn’t come at a better time. The Packers have the chance to take the lead with their second drive of the second half.

The Packers lead for the first time as Jacobs gets his second TD

Well, that’s a way to start the second half. In a matter of just a few minutes, the Packers score not once, but twice, and suddenly find themselves in the lead. FOLKS, this is a new team.

Correction: it is NOT a new team

The defense goes back to their same old ways and gets gashed like crazy as the Lions once again make their way down the field, and into the endzone. The Packers’ lead was short lived, but there’s time to get it back!

The Lions go for it on 4th down, because they’re not COWARDS. AND THEY FAIL.

Turnover on downs, and the Packers are already in Lions territory!

Mom: “Show everyone at the party your little trick!”

Tucker Kraft:

Tucker Kraft, the man that you are! After a little bobbled catch, Kraft does what he does best, and fights for the YAC. And then he does a cool little thing, because he’s Tucker Kraft.

ANOTHER HAT TRICK FOR JOSH JACOBS

For the second time this season, Josh Jacobs scores three TDs in a game. There’s still a whole quarter left. Can he make it four?

Eric Stokes somehow allows a continent’s worth of separation for Tim Patrick’s second score of the night

I genuinely don’t know what happened here, but Tim Patrick scored his second TD of the night, after not playing since the 2021 season. The Stokes Effect, perhaps.

Love’s best throw of the night, and possibly season. WOW.

We’re going to look at replays of this all week. What a beauty of a pass by Jordan Love, for a big first down pickup.

With a Lions FG, they eke out a win against the Packers, 34-31.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
