Update

Dead by Daylight has finally pushed out the latest and highly-anticipated crossover, bringing the iconic Alan Wake character into the realm of the horror-action universe.

After the collaboration announcement by Montreal-based developer Behaviour Interactive a few weeks ago, Alan Wake makes his debut in Dead by Daylight with the updated version 7.5.0. Alan Wake is the newest Survivor introduced as part of Tome 18: Revision. The character will bring a wide range of perks with him as well:

  • Champion of Light: While you are holding a flashlight, this Perk activates. When you are shining a flashlight, you have 50% Haste. When you successfully blind the Killer, they also gain 20% Hindered for 6 seconds. This effect cannot stack with itself. Then, this Perk goes on cool-down for 80/70/60 seconds.
  • Boon: Illumination: Press and hold the Ability button 1 near a Dull or Hex Totem to bless it and create a Boon Totem. Soft chimes ring out in a 24-meter range. Survivors inside your Boon Totem’s range see the aura of all Chests and all Generators in blue. If you have a lit Boon Totem, you cleanse or bless Totems 6/8/10% faster. You can only bless one Totem at a time. All Boon Perks are active on your Boon Totem.
  • Deadline: This Perk activates when you are injured. Skill Checks appear 6/8/10% more frequently when repairing or healing and appear in random places. The penalty for missing Skill Checks is reduced by 50%.

Apart from that, Alan Wake will also come in various cosmetics options, including the "classic" look, where Alan comes with a short hairstyle and a blazer-hoodie combo, similar to what we saw in the first Alan Wake title. Moreover, other cosmetics include Bright Falls, which is more of a casual appeal, along with "Legendary" outfits, which feature the iconic Saga Anderson from Alan Wake 2 and Rose Marigold from the franchise, giving the option for players to survive as the talented FBI agent and the Oh Deer Diner waitress respectively.

Another interesting addition is a new "limited-time" event called the Lights Out. According to the studio, this "adds a terrifying new layer of fear to the Trials players have grown accustomed to". This makes the in-game visuals much darker than the original, which not only heats up the level of difficulty of the game but amps the atmosphere as well. The event will go live on February 7th at 11:00 am EST and run until February 14th at 11:00 am EST.

Dead by Daylight can be played on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Switch, and mobile platforms. Alan Wake is now officially available, and you can try him out now via the latest PC public test build. Alan Wake 2 is available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
