United States Un couple d’Américains sauvé d’un incendie grâce à son enceinte connectée
Le hasard fait parfois bien – ou mal les choses. Un couple d’Américains a récemment été sauvé d’un incendie grâce à leur enceinte connectée Apple HomePod. Les faits ont eu lieu fin juin dans la ville de Colorado Springs, rapporte Phonandroid. Le feu s’est déclaré dans la cuisine au petit matin, un peu avant 5 heures, à cause… de leur chien.
Les pompiers ont partagé une vidéo de la scène sur leur compte Facebook. Selon eux, l’animal a involontairement actionné le bouton de la cuisinière alors qu’il fouillait dans des cartons, sûrement à la recherche de nourriture. Les cartons ont très rapidement pris feu et les flammes se sont aussitôt propagées dans le logement.
#UPDATE: After learning more about the Apple HomePod we've discovered the HomePod likely heard the smoke alarms in the home through sound recognition which generated the alert to the homeowners that something was wrong. We commend this technology and believe it had a significant hand in helping this family! On Wednesday, June 26th at 4:43 a.m. CSFD was dispatched to a possible structure fire at a home on the 1600 block of Rushmore Dr. Homeowners reported to our call takers that they had experienced a fire on the stove in their home that had been extinguished by one of the homeowners. Engine 23 arrived on scene at 4:47 a.m. at a residential home with no visible fire or smoke. Upon investigation, crews did not find any active fire but did find evidence of a fire. The male homeowner was able to extinguish the fire before crews got there but was later transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported to people or pets. After talking to the homeowners and looking through their home security footage, we determined their pup got a bit curious and accidentally switched on the oven which had some boxes on top of it. In this instance, the homeowners say they were altered and woken up by their Apple HomePod which sent them a "High Heat" notice. This is a good reminder to always have working smoke alarms inside and outside every sleeping area and on every floor of the home, ensure all combustibles are away from your stovetop/oven, and know two ways out of every room in your home in the event of a fire.

Malgré l’alarme du détecteur de fumée, les Américains qui dormaient à l’étage ne se sont pas réveillés. Ils sont finalement sortis de leur sommeil grâce à leur enceinte connectée qui les a prévenus du danger. « Le couple a été alerté et réveillé par leur Apple Homepod qui leur a envoyé une notification de forte chaleur », racontent les pompiers sur Facebook.
Une fois réveillé, le propriétaire du logement a réussi à maîtriser l’incendie avant l’arrivée des pompiers. Il a été transporté à l’hôpital après avoir inhalé de la fumée, indiquent les secours, qui en ont profité pour rappeler l’importance d’avoir des détecteurs de fumée en état de marche à chaque étage de la maison.
