Ineos launches new Quartermaster Chassis Cab

Ineos launches new Quartermaster Chassis Cab
Want to use the extended ladder frame of the Grenadier pickup for a specialist vehicle? Right this way...

Ineos is expanding its off-roader range once again with a new, Chassis Cab version of its Quartermaster pickup. The latest variant of the double-cab truck features an exposed ladder-frame chassis at the rear, allowing for specialist vehicle converters (or anyone handy with a welding torch) to customise the rear of the car for any and all needs.

One of the major draws of the Quartermaster is its sheer size, with a wheelbase that’s 305mm longer than the Grenadiers at 3,277mm and a towering height of 2,019mm. The Chassis Cab takes things a step further by leaving the ladder-frame chassis behind the five-seater cabin open to the elements. The launch pictures show how a cargo bed can be bolted onto the back, but all sorts of configurations are possible with the Chassis Cab: think Quartermaster ambulance, fire engine, tank and much more. You still get all the off-road gear too, such as a two-speed transfer case and a trio of locking differentials. So it can not only go everywhere, it can now do (almost) everything.

“In the first year since the Grenadier launched we have already seen a number of specialist conversions, particularly with emergency services such as fire, police and inshore rescue, so launching the Quartermaster Chassis Cab is a natural step that takes our off-road expertise into many commercial areas that need a class-leading 4X4”, said commercial chief George Ratcliffe. “The ‘blank canvas’ Chassis Cab variant allows even greater versatility, from the basic trayback for agricultural use through recovery and emergency services to tourism, presenting an ideal platform for an overlanding camper.”

Like the rest of the Grenadier and Quartermaster range, the Chassis Cab is offered with a turbocharged, 3.0-litre BMW straight-six in either petrol or diesel form, each paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic. You can register your interest on the company’s website now, with prices starting at £53,180 excluding VAT. And don’t forget to set something aside for your custom rear deck. We’re thinking mobile apocalypse bunker…
