Will There Be a Third '365 Days' Movie?

Will There Be a Third 365 Days Movie
The "365 Days" series may have only just released its latest movie, but a third one could already be on the way to Netflix.

365 Days was one of the big Netflix hits of 2020, and now the sequel is starting to make its way up the streaming service.

Netflix viewers are loving (or loving to hate) the latest Stockholm Syndrome-inflected romantic adventures of Massimo (Michele Morrone) and Laura (Anna-Maria Sieklucka). As the book series 365 Days is a trilogy, fans are eagerly anticipating a third film.

The Next 365 Days is the name of the third book—and if the movie is anything like the novel, it was be a dramatic film where Laura's life hangs in the balance. But will there be a third 365 Days movie, and what will happen in it? Here's what we know.

The Third '365 Days' Movie Has Already Been Confirmed

In a Netflix piece teasing the release of the current movie, 365 Days trilogy author Blanka Lipińska teased: "One thing I can promise you is that it's not over yet!"

Why was she so certain that Netflix would order a third film in the franchise? Because it already had. In fact...

'365 Days 3' Has Already Been Filmed

If a Netflix film is a big success, the streaming service often will turn it into a trilogy, filming the second and third movies back to back so they can ensure that all the cast can appear across all three films.

For example, Netflix is currently filming back-to-back sequels of its Ryan Reynolds/The Rock film Red Notice, and previously shot The Kissing Booth 2 and 3 one after the other.

The streamer did the same with 365 Days: This Day, and the film that will be based on The Next 365 Days. In May 2021, Deadline confirmed this, with Lipińska telling the outlet: "I'm hugely honoured that the remaining two parts of my 365 Days trilogy—This Day and Next 365 Days—will be brought to life on screen by Netflix.

"I'm so excited to show fans of my novels all over the world this fresh look at the characters and to continue Laura and Massimo's story."

Filming began in mid-May 2021 and continued into June. Sieklucka, Morrone and Olga actor Magdalena Lamparska are all confirmed to be appearing in the third part.

'The Next 365 Days' Sees Laura's Life in Huge Danger

If the third 365 Days film follows the plot of the third book, then it will have much more of a focus on Massimo after Laura is left fighting for her life.

The official synopsis for the book reads: "As the wife of Don Massimo Torricelli, one of the most dangerous Mafia bosses in Sicily, Laura's life is a roller coaster. She is often at risk, the potential target of Massimo's unscrupulous enemies who will stop at nothing to destroy the powerful man. And when Laura is seriously injured in an attack, pregnant and fighting to survive, Massimo faces the toughest decision of his life. What will his life be without Laura? Will he be able to raise their child alone? What will the fate of his family be, and whose 365 days may come to a close?"

365 Days and 365 Days: This Day are streaming now on Netflix. The release date of the third film has not been announced yet.
